Grain storage and processing complex
Scope of work: design development, thermal imaging survey of the storage chambers’ TiS, equipment supply, installation and assembly of a complete set of materials for the reconstruction of the air aspiration system for cutters and elevators, re-equipment of production facilities, installation of process ventilation in cold rooms, and commissioning works.
A comprehensive reconstruction of the dust extraction system serving the cutters and bucket elevator in the grain and seed processing section of the elevator complex was successfully completed. The project was aimed at improving the efficiency of the process equipment, reducing airborne dust levels, and enhancing operating conditions within the production areas.
The initial stage included the preparation of detailed working drawings based on the actual condition of the existing equipment, the specifics of the technological process, and the requirements for upgrading the dust extraction system. The proposed engineering solutions ensured seamless integration of the new equipment into the existing infrastructure of the facility.
In addition, a thermal imaging survey of the thermal insulation structures (TiS) of the storage chambers was carried out. The survey made it possible to assess the condition of the insulation, identify potential heat loss areas, verify the performance of the refrigeration equipment, and determine opportunities for further improving the facility’s energy efficiency.
The project also included the supply of a complete range of equipment and materials required for the reconstruction works. All components were selected in accordance with reliability requirements, energy efficiency objectives, and applicable industrial safety standards.
Following completion of the preparatory works, the equipment was installed and the dust extraction system serving the cutters and bucket elevator was reconstructed. This stage included modernization of the production facilities, upgrading of the air-cleaning units, and adaptation of the system to meet current technological requirements.
A separate phase of the project involved equipping the refrigeration chambers with a process ventilation system, ensuring a stable indoor microclimate and optimal conditions for storing finished products.
The project concluded with commissioning activities, including comprehensive system testing, balancing of all engineering systems, and successful start-up under normal operating conditions.
As a result of the project, the efficiency of the dust extraction system was significantly improved, airborne dust levels within the production areas were reduced, sanitary and operating conditions were enhanced, the energy efficiency of the storage chambers was increased, and the overall reliability of the elevator complex was improved.
